Haliburton Pastoral Charge

May is Manse Month – The care of the Manse is the responsibility of all three churches in the Pastoral Charge. This year we need funds to rebuild the deck at the back and side of the Manse. Take Mom Out To Dinner!  Roast Beef Dinner at Haliburton UC Friday, May 12 at 5:30 pm. Tickets – Adults $15.; Children (6-10) $5.; under 6 free.  Call Robin Dundas 705-457-1771. Take out available – Call Robin.  Please check out the sign up sheet in the foyer to see if you can help.

Men’s breakfast and time of fellowship Saturday, May 13th, 8:30 – 9:30 a.m.  Come and enjoy a hearty breakfast of bacon and eggs.  All men are welcome.

Music Night, presented by the Church in Haliburton, is a multi-church event on Wednesday, May 24, at 7 p.m. at Lakeside Baptist. This will feature lots of worship songs led by musicians from several local churches along with some stories of faith. Come and celebrate our unity in Christ!

Community

Mother’s Day launches the 2017 Formula for Success Baby Bottle Campaign for the Highlands Community Pregnancy Care Centre. Don’t forget to take a bottle home and fill it with coins, bills, cheques etc. and return it to church on Father’s Day. Thank you for your support.

The College Community Choir in Lindsay, the Highlands Festival Singers in Haliburton and the North Hastings Community Choir in Bancroft directed by Melissa Stephens are joining together to present a Massed Choir event to celebrate Canada’s 150th Birthday. The event will take place in Minden on Tuesday, May 9th at 7 p.m. at the Archie Stouffer Elementary School. The title of this concert is “A Canadian Choral Celebration 150 Years 150 Voices.” All the music presented at this spectacular choir event will be the work of Canadian composers.  Tickets available from choir members, Cranberry Cottage, Minden Pharmasave or by calling 705-457-4916 or emailing 150years150voices@gmail.com.

Pot Luck Lunch:  Our next pot luck lunch will be held on Sunday, May 21.  Help is needed with clean up.  Thank you.

Stewardship and Mission Offering:  The extra monthly Mission for May is the YWCA.  We thank you for your support and ask that you mark your envelope when giving to this extra mission.  Take note of the Stewardship and Mission bulletin board in the foyer.  Information will be posted as it becomes available.

Bible studies:

For a time of study, prayer and fellowship, please join us:

  • Women to Women Bible Study, Tuesdays in the library 11:30 am until 1 pm. All women are welcome to join us at any time. For info call the office 705-457-1891.
  • Wednesday Morning Bible Study in the Library 10 – 11:30 a.m.

Library: The library is open during office hours except when being used for meetings. The librarian is available Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to noon to help in choosing a book, DVD or teaching material (holidays excluded).

Coffee is available every Sunday before church in the foyer outside of the Fellowship Room.  All are welcome to partake and enjoy!
