Haliburton Pastoral Charge

The Official Board of the Haliburton Pastoral Charge will meet on Tuesday, September 19 at Lochlin at 7 pm.  The minutes and agenda have been sent out by email.  If you do not have email a few copies will be sent to the church.  If you receive the minutes, you are a member of this board and are encouraged to come out and help make important decisions for the Pastoral Charge. Thank you.

Music Night, presented by the Church in Haliburton, is a multi-church event on Wednesday, September 27th, at 7:00 pm at Haliburton United. This will feature lots of worship songs led by musicians from several local churches along with some stories of faith. Special appearance by the ‘Rollicking Reverends’. Come and celebrate our unity in Christ!

Soup & Sandwich Luncheon at Ingoldsby UC – Saturday, September 30th – 11:00 am to 4:00 pm and Sunday, October 1st – 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Choice of delicious soups, sandwiches, tea biscuits, tarts and beverage. Variety of harvest, craft and handmade clothing items for purchase.

Celebrating 25 years of Faithful Ministry – On October 21st 2017, please join together at Haliburton UC to celebrate Harry Morgan’s 25th anniversary as pastor of the Haliburton Pastoral Charge. There will be a time of sharing at 5:00 pm in the sanctuary followed by a dinner at 6:00 pm. Please RSVP by October 14th to ensure there will be enough food for everyone – Ingoldsby – Shirley Venner 286-4489; Lochlin – Janice Carr 286-2453; Haliburton – Lynne Bertrand 455-9878 or 457-1891. A love offering box will be available.

Let’s Study Together – Women of the Word at Lakeside Baptist Church starting Wednesday, September 20, 2017 9:15 – 11:45 a.m. For more information call 705-457-2851 or http://www.mylakeside.ca.

St. George’s Annual Beef BBQ, a Community Outreach Project, will be held on Saturday, September 30th.  There will be sittings at 5:00 and 6:30 pm.  Tickets are Adults $20 and Children under 12 years $6.  Tickets are available at Master’s Bookstore, at the church office, from Louise Sisson (705 457 1355) or at the door.

Pot Luck Lunch: Our next pot luck lunch will be held on Sunday, September 24. Help is needed with cleanup. Thank you.

Stewardship and Mission Offering:  The extra monthly Mission for September is Mercy Ships. We thank you for your support and ask that you mark your envelope when giving to this extra mission.  Take note of the Stewardship and Mission bulletin board in the foyer.  Information will be posted as it becomes available.  

Bible studies:

For a time of study, prayer and fellowship, please join us:

  • Women to Women Bible Study, Tuesdays in the library 11:30 am until 1 pm. All women are welcome to join us at any time. For info call the office 705-457-1891.
  • Wednesday Morning Bible Study in the Library 10 – 11:30 a.m.

Library: The library is open during office hours except when being used for meetings. The librarian is available Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to noon to help in choosing a book, DVD or teaching material (holidays excluded).

Coffee is available every Sunday before church in the foyer outside of the Fellowship Room.  All are welcome to partake and enjoy!
