Haliburton Pastoral Charge

Music Night, presented by the Church in Haliburton, is a multi-church event on Wednesday, September 27th, at 7:00 pm at Haliburton United. This will feature lots of worship songs led by musicians from several local churches along with some stories of faith. Special appearance by the ‘Rollicking Reverends’. Come and celebrate our unity in Christ!

Soup & Sandwich Luncheon at Ingoldsby UC – Saturday, September 30th – 11:00 am to 4:00 pm and Sunday, October 1st – 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Choice of delicious soups, sandwiches, tea biscuits, tarts and beverage. Variety of harvest, craft and handmade clothing items for purchase.

October is Stewardship Month in Bay of Quinte Conference – Celebrate Mission and Service! Sunday, October 15 is Toonie Sunday. You are encouraged to be creative! One idea: a pill bottle will hold 25 to 40 Toonies. Start saving for M&S now!

Celebrating 25 years of Faithful Ministry – On October 21st 2017, please join together at Haliburton UC to celebrate Harry Morgan’s 25th anniversary as pastor of the Haliburton Pastoral Charge. There will be a time of sharing at 5:00 pm in the sanctuary followed by a dinner at 6:00 pm. A love offering box will be available.

Community

St. George’s Annual Beef BBQ, a Community Outreach Project, will be held on Saturday, September 30th.  There will be sittings at 5:00 and 6:30 pm.  Tickets are Adults $20 and Children under 12 years $6.  Tickets are available at Master’s Bookstore, at the church office, from Louise Sisson (705 457 1355) or at the door.

Bible Study: Ascension Press – Unlocking the Mystery of the Bible – An 8-week program Fridays 7-8 p.m. October 20 to December 8 at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 27 Victoria Street. You can register by calling the church at 705-457-3695 or by email at stanthonyhal@bellnet.ca. There is a $20 fee to cover the cost of the study materials. Please register by Thanksgiving weekend.

Stewardship and Mission Offering:  The extra monthly Mission for September is Mercy Ships. We thank you for your support and ask that you mark your envelope when giving to this extra mission.  Take note of the Stewardship and Mission bulletin board in the foyer.  Information will be posted as it becomes available.  

Bible studies:

For a time of study, prayer and fellowship, please join us:

  • Women to Women Bible Study, Tuesdays in the library 11:30 am until 1 pm. All women are welcome to join us at any time. For info call the office 705-457-1891.
  • Wednesday Morning Bible Study in the library 10 – 11:30 a.m.

Library: The library is open during office hours except when being used for meetings. The librarian is available Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to noon to help in choosing a book, DVD or teaching material (holidays excluded).

Coffee is available every Sunday before church in the foyer outside of the Fellowship Room.  All are welcome to partake and enjoy!
