Haliburton Pastoral Charge

“Come and Mourn with Me Awhile”: A meditative Good Friday service of scripture, anthems  and hymns, featuring the combined choirs of Highland Hills and Haliburton United under the direction of Melissa Stephens. Friday, March 30, 9 am Zion United and 11:15 am at Haliburton United. All are welcome.


St. George’s Anglican Church would like to invite you join us to make Palm crosses, enjoy coffee and fellowship on Friday March 23 at 10 am in the church. We are making palm crosses in anticipation of Palm Sunday. No skill required. All equipment will be provided. We welcome all from our community. Reaping The Harvest – A fundraising banquet for Monarch Summer Ministries Saturday, April 21st 5:30 pm at the Pioneer Baptist Church in Norland. Tickets are $18. or sponsor a table of 8 for $130. Monarch Bible Camp invites you to “Going Deep”- a weekend event to challenge youth to grow deeper with God & in Bible knowledge May 4 – 6 at Camp Endobanah (just outside of Norland The weekend is presented and funded by Bible League Canada and One Hope Canada, partly based on “What’s In The Bible” by Phil Vischer, creator of Veggie Tales. Haliburton UC

Easter Flowers: Cheryle Russell is away for an extended winter break. Therefore, she is unable to organize the Easter flowers. Cheryle spoke to a couple of people about this and the consensus is: anyone wishing to place a flower or plant in memory of a loved could purchase one for Easter Sunday Service.

Planning is underway for a Sunday service to welcome new members.  Anyone who might be interested in joining Haliburton United Church is asked to contact Rev. Harry Morgan for more information.

Pot Luck Lunch: Our next pot luck lunch will be held on Sunday, March 25. Help is needed with clean up. Thank you.

Stewardship and Mission Offering:  The extra monthly Mission for March is Canadian Bible Society. We thank you for your support and ask that you mark your envelope when giving to this extra mission.  Take note of the Stewardship and Mission bulletin board in the foyer.  Information will be posted as it becomes available. For a time of study, prayer and fellowship, please join us:

  • Women to Women Bible Study, Tuesdays in the library 11:30 am until 1 pm. All women are welcome to join us at any time. For info call the office 705-457-1891.
  • Wednesday Morning Bible Study in the library 10 – 11:30 a.m.

Library: The library is open during office hours except when being used for meetings. The librarian is available Tuesdays from 10 to 11:30 a.m. to help in choosing a book, DVD or teaching material (holidays excluded).

Coffee is available every Sunday before church in the foyer outside of the Fellowship Room.  All are welcome to partake and enjoy!
