Haliburton Pastoral Charge

Please join us on Sunday December 2nd for a joint service for the Pastoral Charge at Lochlin United Church gathering at 10 am for singing; service starting at 10:30 a.m. to celebrate the 1st Sunday of Advent.  Communion will be served.  This will be an opportunity for all 3 churches to worship together and get to know one another a little better. 

The “Highlands Festival Singers” directed by Melissa Stephens celebrate the arrival of the Christmas Season with “Deck the Halls with Songs and Laughter”. A fun concert featuring the lighter side of Christmas music Sunday, Dec 2 at 3:00 p.m.; Tuesday, Dec 4 at 7:30 p.m. at Haliburton United Church; $15 General Admission. Tickets available at CRANBERRY COTTAGE, Haliburton, MINDEN PHARMASAVE, Minden, or by calling 705 457 4916.

Pot Luck Lunch: We will be having Pot Luck Lunch on Sunday November 25. Help is needed with clean up. Thanks.

44th and final Christmas in Carnarvon Wednesday, December 5th at 7 pm. You must go early to get a seat and bring a story, poem or short skit (as a group from Haliburton) that will have everyone laughing.  Donations for the food bank gratefully accepted.

MARK YOUR CALENDAR: Come out on Thursday, December 6th at 9:30 to help decorate the church for Christmas.  Many hands make light work. It will take approximately 2 – 3 hours.  

White Gift Sunday Dec 9th. Please bring unwrapped toys or other items for tweens and teens, non-perishable food items or even money for the 4Cs to help with their Christmas hampers.

Stewardship and Mission Offering:  The extra monthly Mission for November is Christian Blind Mission. We thank you for your support and ask that you mark your envelope when giving to this extra mission. Take note of the Stewardship and Mission bulletin board in the foyer. Information will be posted as it becomes available.

Bible studies:

For a time of study, prayer and fellowship, please join us:

  • Women to Women Bible Study, Tuesdays in the library 11:30 am until 1 pm. All women are welcome to join us at any time. For info call the office 705-457-1891.
  • Wednesday Morning Bible Study in the library 10 – 11:30 a.m.

Library: The library is open during office hours except when being used for meetings. The librarian is available Tuesdays from 10 to 11:30 a.m. to help in choosing a book, DVD or teaching material (holidays excluded).

Coffee is available every Sunday before church in the foyer outside of the Fellowship Room.  All are welcome to partake and enjoy!
