Haliburton Pastoral Charge
Today we welcome Stephen Livingstone to lead our churches in worship. Harry is on vacation.
Men’s breakfast and time of fellowship Saturday, November 16th, 8:30 – 9:30 a.m. at Haliburton UC. Come and enjoy a hearty breakfast of bacon and eggs. All men are welcome.
The Official Board of the Haliburton Pastoral Charge will meet on Tuesday, November 19 at Lochlin UC at 2 pm. If you receive the minutes, you are a member of this board and are encouraged to come out and help make important decisions for the Pastoral Charge. Thank you.
Please join us on Sunday December 1st for a joint service for the Pastoral Charge at Haliburton United Church at 10:30 a.m. to celebrate the 1st Sunday of Advent. Communion will be served. This will be an opportunity for all 3 churches to worship together and get to know one another a little better. Lunch will be served following the service.
Please join us “Christmas in the Highlands” formerly Christmas in Carnarvon to be held at Highland Hills UC (a.k.a. Minden UC) Wednesday Dec 4th 2 – 4 pm for a humourous look at Christmas. They would like your group to bring skit or story! If you wish, please bring a donation for the Food Bank.
MARK YOUR CALENDAR: Come out on Tuesday, November 12 at 9:30 to help decorate the church for Christmas. Many hands make light work. It will take approximately 2 – 3 hours. Call Mary McKee for more info 705-457-0856.
Remember to bring your Samaritan’s Purse Shoe box back on Sunday November 17th.
NO pot luck lunch in November as our three churches are gathering together on Dec 1st and lunch will be provided that day.
Please check out the sign up sheet posted in the foyer to help with lunch for December 1st.
Prayer List: A few copies of the prayer list will be printed and put on the black table / desk in foyer for anyone who wishes to take it home to pray over. The copies will be there on Sunday only.
To welcome children to our regular Sunday family worship we are providing children’s pew bags containing stories and activities to enjoy during the regular service time. These are available in the foyer for children and/or parents to choose from. Each bag also includes a gift book for you to take home. Please return your bag to the basket as you leave. Your presence is a blessing to us.
Stewardship and Mission Offering: The extra monthly Mission for November is Youth Unlimited. We thank you for your support and ask that you mark your envelope when giving to this extra mission. Take note of the Stewardship and Mission bulletin board in the foyer. Information will be posted as it becomes available.
For a time of study, prayer and fellowship, please join us:
- Wednesday Morning Bible Study in the library 10 – 11:30 a.m.
- Friday Women to Women Bible Study in the library 11:30 am until 1 pm. All women are welcome to join us at any time. For info call the office 705-457-1891.
Library: The library is open during office hours except when being used for meetings. The librarian is available Fridays from 10 to 11:30 a.m. to help in choosing a book, DVD or teaching material (holidays excluded).
Coffee is available every Sunday before church in the foyer outside of the Fellowship Room. All are welcome to partake and enjoy!
