Today at 10:30 a.m.: First Sunday of Lent Communion Service. Join us by having bread and juice (or wine) on hand.
NEW: Minutes for Mission, a feature of the Mission and Service program of the United Church of Canada, will be posted on and from haliburtonuc.com beginning in February. Watch for these monthly stories about how your contributions to the M&S fund are making a difference. This month we spotlight “A Fresh Start for Aria”.
Sundays at 10:30 a.m.: Online service. Access opens 15 minutes early to give viewers time to tune in. Visit the HUC website Watch Online page for details, or go to the channel directly through YouTube or by clicking the “Online Services” button on the Home page.
Tuesdays from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.: Scripture Study. This independent study group currently meets using the Haliburton UC Zoom feed. Participants pray with the reading for the day. There is no homework or preparation of the Sunday lectionary reading. It is an opportunity to dig deeper into the Bible, learning and sharing tools of Scripture study. Wednesdays from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.: Women to Women Bible Study. Based at Haliburton UC, participants share their lives and concerns, pray together and study the Word using a simple study method. Currently meetings are held via Zoom. There’s no need to be on screen or to participate in discussions, and there is no homework. New participants are welcome. For more information email Lisa.
Haliburton UC’s monthly mission for February is effect:hope – The Leprosy Mission Canada. If you’d like to donate to this mission, please do so by cheque or electronic funds transfer (EFT) to the church with Monthly Mission marked on your offering envelope or in the EFT “Message” box. Virtual Sunday School: During the COVID-19 pandemic, we’re offering a virtual Sunday School program that will encourage kids in their faith. Materials are emailed to parents, grandparents or caregivers weekly and then we feature submitted photos of the children and their artwork during Sunday services.
