Today: Easter Sunday Communion service in church and online. Viewers are invited to join us by having bread and juice or wine on hand.

The Good Friday Cantata “The Rose of Calvary” is available for viewing on YouTube – click here to watch now or click on the Online Services button at at any time. Presented by members of the Highland Hills United Church and Haliburton United Church choirs under the direction of Melissa Stephens.

Until April 18: 2nd Annual Haliburton County Stations of the Cross Tour. Enjoy a drive-by tour of our beautiful region featuring themed local art as a way to reflect on and prepare for Easter. For details, visit the Lakeside Church website at

Tuesday, April 19: Haliburton Pastoral Charge Official Board Meeting at 2 p.m. The meeting will be held in person at Haliburton United Church and via Zoom by video and phone. Details will be emailed. For more information call the office at 705-457-1891.

Current Events and Notices

Volunteer drivers are needed for the Wheels of Hope program for cancer patients travelling to and from treatments. Contact the Canadian Cancer Society at or 1-888-939-3333.

Sundays: Service in church and streamed online at 11:15 a.m.

Monthly mission: Our mission for April is World Vision Canada in support of our sponsored child in Cambodia. For details and to learn how to donate, visit the Monthly Missions page.

Tuesdays from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.: Minds in Motion, an Alzheimer’s Society program designed to provide physical activity and mental and social stimulation. $30/couple for 8 weeks. Call Jennifer at 705-748-5131 x225.

Tuesdays from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.: Online Scripture Study. This ecumenical study group meets using the Haliburton UC Zoom feed. Please contact Jean Schlicklin Tyler at 705-457-2214 or email Jean for the meeting link.

Wednesdays from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.: Women to Women Bible Study. Based through Haliburton UC, participants study the Word using a simple study method, currently on Zoom. There’s no need to be on screen or to participate in discussions, and there is no homework. For more information email Lisa.
