
Melissa serves as music director, organist and pianist for the Haliburton United Church choir as well as keyboardist for contemporary music Sundays and other events at the church.
A resident of Haliburton for 40 years, this accomplished pianist, organist, flautist and music director is an artistic force to be reckoned with in Haliburton County and beyond.
Melissa leads five other choirs, including the Highlands Festival Singers, and serves as Executive Producer and costume designer for the Highlands Summer Festival. Melissa is also Company Manager for the Highlands Opera Studio, working with Artistic Director Richard Margison and General Director Val Kuinka.
In her spare time Melissa teaches full-time at Haliburton Highlands Secondary School and tutors music students privately.
She is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario with degrees in music and education and a diploma from the Western Conservatory of Music.
Melissa was named Highlander of the Year in 1998 and Artist of Distinction in 2007.
