Current Events and Notices

Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes: Each year OCC partners with the local church worldwide to collect shoebox gifts filled with toys, school supplies, and hygiene items for needy children around the world. Since 1993, more than 198 million children in more than 170 countries and territories have received an Operation Christmas Child shoebox. For details on how to participate, visit the shoeboxes page on the church website. Packed boxes are due back to the church between Nov. 14 and 18.

Mission & Service 2021: The United Church of Canada has published a brochure about Mission & Service funds raised in 2021 and how they were used. For details, visit the Mission & Service page.

Monthly mission: Our mission for November is Samaritan’s Purse. For details and to learn how to donate, visit the Monthly Missions page.

Sundays: Service in church and online via livestream on YouTube at 11:15 a.m.

Ecumenical Bible Study: This group meets on Tuesdays at 7 p.m. via Zoom, facilitated by Jean Schlicklin Tyler. This Fall, Sr. Kitty Bethea, OP, will share her study of Revelation. Contact Jean for the Zoom link by email or at 705-457-2214.

Women to Women Bible Study: This group held Wednesdays is on hiatus.

Minds in Motion: Tuesdays from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Haliburton UC. An Alzheimer’s Society program designed to provide physical activity and mental and social stimulation. $30/couple for 8 weeks. Call Jennifer at 705-748-5131 x225.

Virtual Sunday School is on hiatus. Previous lesson materials and the Sunday School songs are posted on the Services page for downloading/singalongs.
